W3C - World Wide Web Consortium. An
international consortium of companies involved with the internet and web.
The W3C is the chief standards body for HTTP and HTML.
WAN - Wide Area Network. A network of
computers in different physical localities.
WAV - A common sound format on the web.
Webmaster/Webmistress - The person responsible
for providing the information, content, and programs available at a website.
It is usually the person who designs a site and maintains it.
WWW - World Wide Web. A portion of the internet
that can be viewed with a web browser and uses HTML to display data, often
in graphical ways.
